About
“No pressure. Just write whatever you want.” These are the words of advice given to me by my adoring husband, Corey, as I stare at the screen before me and the blinking cursor silently nudging me to typetypetypetype……… Ok, so here goes.
I am great at books. I admire them, I collect them, I love the way they look, love the way they smell. New ones, old ones. Fat ones are the best. An idyllic afternoon for me involves a hot cup of coffee, a roaring fire, a blanket and a captivating book, read from cover to cover. Could a more cozy scenario be imagined?
But reality is that I’m great at starting books. I open them, read them half or a third of the way through, and then another book strikes my fancy and I start it… leaving the bookmark tucked into the first and launching off on my next read. It’s a bad and unfortunate habit. My bookshelves are filled with stories I partially know. But, occasionally, it happens…. I stumble upon a really great book. A book that I just must read. A book that keeps me up at night and steals my spare moments in the day. This is one of my favorite compulsions. The need to turn the page, to learn what happens next. When characters matters and their stories can’t be shelved.
I’ve had such books recommended to me by friends. I’ve stumbled upon such books while perusing the local B&N. Such books are the feature of this blog. My fellow readers and I will select a book and read it through, each of us discussing/blogging our opinions along the way.
Four friends… One book at a time… Reading and then writing our thoughts. A single focus from four unique points of view. I can’t wait to see what we come up with!
